Ashby's Third Set of Shots

Our puppy's been a little on the hyper side of life the last few days, which made our trip to Dr. Shamblin a little interesting. But, Ashby Girl did such a good job at the vet today! She walked in the front door just like it was ours, and loved on all the sweet ladies that work there! She even showed everyone how she could be a big girl and sit on the exam table and "show out" like the other puppies she was hearing.

From the very first vet visit, I insisted that Dave take her picture on the table, so we could document not only her doctor visits, but also how big she's getting! Ashby Dog Ashley weighs 12.4 lbs today! That's a long way from the measley 4 lbs she weighed when we brought her home just a few weeks ago. She's growing so fast, and getter lighter every day... we just hope we can rid her of play biting and chewing on stuff :(

Here recently, she's gotten to where she wants to be one of two places in the car: my lap with half her body OUT of the window, or, in the backseat all by herself. So, leaving the vet, I just put her in the backseat to avoid her indecisiveness. Literally two minutes from home, I start hearing her heave. Next thing I know, this sweet puppy has puked in the car :(

...And twice more once we got inside. Seeing Ashby Girl not feel good is not so sweet. She let me hold her for just a minute, but insists on laying on the cool hardwood floor completely unbothered (which makes me sad). So, as I update you on our adorable little prize, she's all curled up, sleeping, on the hardwood floor, by herself - because she won't let me lay with her. Bummer.

Wedding Wednesday

I'm trying to find the p.e.r.f.e.c.t. color to wear on my special day and after falling in love with nail polish over the last few months, this is something I'm having fun with!
I purchased "Nude Beach" today, but have yet to test the shade. Everything I read about the Essie Collection points to "Mademoiselle", but I wasn't really feeling it when I went and looked at it.
I'm going for something light (in a pink shade), but pretty enough that it gives my nails a feminine touch :)
If anyone has any suggestions, I would greatly appreciate them! I would love to be able to cross this off my list!

Wedding Wednesday

Hi There Folks!

Hope this weather has everyone excited for Spring! I know me, Dave and Ashby have been l.o.v.i.n.g. the sunshine and warmth!

In today's post, I'm going to give some concrete wedding information and direct you guys to the little "Wedding Website" picture on the right side of our blog page. If you just click on the picture, it should just take you to our page.

Without further adeu':
  • We're heading to NYC! Yep, you heard it right. We got engaged in Central Park at Bethesda Terrace and we've decided to go back to our special place to tie the knot!
(...no, that's not us or anyone we know in the picture, but we definitely want one made like this....)

  • The date is still the same: May 14, 2011

  • Time: 10 AM. We've been encouraged by some close friends that the earlier the better when thinking about having such a special day in Central Park. Keeping that in mind, both of us thought about the time of day we got engaged and felt that this was just perfect anyway.

Having our close family and friends there has been all we wanted, but hope that you guys will continue to follow the blog as we share our pictures and memories with you all!

Play Day at the River Front Park

At least twice a day, Ashby gets to ride to the River Front Park to run around and play until she just can't play anymore (which can take anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour). This week has been beautiful and a little warmer than usual, so we haven't minded making a few extra trips!
Yes, she's running around by herself still attached to her lease. We feel a little better letting her play by herself if we leave her leash on - that way if a big dog comes by or she starts to run in a different direction we can catch her before she gets too far :)
We like to show off our tricks for nice people at the park, too. Ashby's such a fluffy little butterball people just love to watch her perform! We must brag on her just a little: She's soo smart already! She knows how to sit, shake, touch, fetch and we're working on lay down. She tends to get a little distracted with lay down and think we're trying to play.
Going down the stairs has been a new development. She has been too little to figure out how to go about the process, but by the first of this week, she's figured it out, and has done it well. Today, however, she got going a little too fast and managed to slide down about three steps. When she got up she was limping and refused to walk, so naturally, it scared us a little, but we quickly realized she was just scared when she started running and biting at our pant leg (another favorite "trick").

All in all going to be park is the highlight of Ashby Dog's day. She loves to eat grass and play with puppies her size! I'm going to try to figure out how to make a tab on the top of our page to keep updated pictures of her under. That way our posts don't start consisting of "Ashby's Adventures", but you can still watch her grow!

This Is It:

God definitely knew that I needed a little extra time at work today to read through some stuff...
-----
I am immensely thankful for the slow day we had and the calming sound that sweet rain brings!
-----
I'm headed to The 'Ham in the morning to take my boards (at precisely 8:00 AM), and hope I can walk away with my head held high.
